小林まさる、1946年、彼はこの世に生を受けた。若き日は、日本大学芸術学部写真学科で学び、時代の息吹をフィルムに焼き付けるフリーの写真家として活動した。しかし、彼の内なる衝動は、写真という枠に収まりきらなかった。1987年、医学写真の撮影という、生と死が交錯する現場での精神的な経験が、彼の魂を揺さぶる。彼は筆を手に取り、絵画制作という新たな表現の道を歩み始めた。それは、内なる葛藤と対峙し、魂の叫びをキャンバスに解き放つ旅の始まりだった。1995年、彼の才能はイーグル・ド・ニース展で審査員賞を受賞し、世に認められる。1997年には、あゆみ画廊（東京）での初個展、バルセロナのビジュアルアート展入賞と、その活動は国内外へと広がっていった。2000年、ニューヨークのBasta Pastaでの個展は、彼の作品が国境を越えて人々の心を捉えることを証明した。2007年、荒川画廊（東京）、2016年、2022年には,ちばぎんひまわりギャラリー（東京）と、精力的に個展を開催。2023年、一修悠画廊による二人展が京都伊勢丹、新潟伊勢丹で開催され、彼の作品は新たな観客との出会いを果たした。そして2024年、レスリーセイヤとの二人展が京都伊勢丹一修悠画廊主催で開催される。写真家から画家へ。彼の人生は、変化と挑戦の連続である。医学写真という特殊な分野での経験が、彼の芸術に深みと独自性を与えている。彼の作品は、見る者の魂に静かに語りかけ、深い感動を与える。彼の筆から生み出される色彩と形は、彼の内なる宇宙を映し出す。小林まさるは自身の絵画を　「詩絵（うたえ）」と名付けている。絵に向かう時、無数に現れる文字にならない詩の断片と共に、見えない想いを救い上げ一つの世界を立ち上げます、彼の作品は目で読む詩でありあなたの内なる記憶と共鳴し、新たな物語を育んでくれるでしょう。一枚一枚の作品は、「言葉の気配」が静かに立ち上がる詩集でもあります。

Masaru Kobayashi was born in 1946.As a young man, he studied photography at Nihon University College of Art and worked as a freelance photographer, capturing the breath of the times on film.However, his inner impulses were not confined to the confines of photography, and in 1987, a spiritual experience in medical photography, where life and death intersected, shook his soul.He picked up a brush and embarked on a new path of expression: painting.In 1995, his talent was recognized when he won the Jury Prize at the Eagle de Nice exhibition, and in 1997, his work was featured in a solo exhibition at Ayumi Gallery in Tokyo and won a prize at a visual art exhibition in Barcelona.In 2000, his solo exhibition at Basta Pasta in New York proved that his work transcends national borders and captures the hearts of people.Gallery held two-person exhibitions at Isetan Kyoto and Isetan Niigata, where his work met a new audience.In 2024, a two-person exhibition with Leslie Thayer will be held at Isetan Isshuyu Gallery in Kyoto.From photographer to painter.His life has been a series of changes and challenges.His experience in the special field of medical photography gives his art depth and uniqueness.His work speaks quietly to the viewer's soul and moves him deeply.The colors and shapes created by his brush reflect his inner universe.Masaru Kobayashi calls his paintings "poetry paintings.My works are poems that you can read with your eyes, and they will resonate with your inner memories and nurture new stories.Each of my works is also a collection of poems in which "the presence of words" quietly rises.
